All that you wanted to know about IPL T20 2014 :
Cricket is one of those games that has not remained as favorite of any particular place or country, it is game which has attracted mass population to itself. Unlike earlier when there you should be limited tournaments, now world experience a row of such tours. The most famous one among them is Indian Premier League also Known as IPL - a tournament that was started to establish a harmony among different countries. In these tournaments only you could see players from different countries playing together for their rivals, with their rivals and sometimes against their own team mates. It was surely a nice attempt but controversy is something that had remains a huge part of it.
Venue of IPL 2014 :
Indian Premier League had always remained in controversy and IPL T20 that is going to held in 2014 is also sailing in the same boat. The dates of IPL 2014 are clashing with the election dates of India and at the same time these is a big dispute about the venue of IPL T20 2014. The dates of IPL T20 2014 had developed a scenario where this year it may take place in some foreign venues including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc. Earlier South Africa was also chosen as a venue for IPL in 2009 when due to elections in India, the available security of India was not very reliable. General election that is going too held then has leaded all these confusion and re arrangement. BCCI is looking forward to nearby sub continent places for IPL.
Dates of IPL T20, 2014 and general election of Lok Sabha- hitting together!
Recently a report that was published in Financial Express had announced that the entire IPL T20 2014 or may be a part of it may shift to India’s neighboring island Sri Lanka or the neighboring country that is famous for Elisha fish- Bangladesh for the polls of Lok Sabha. IPL tournament lasts for more than 2 months. IPL takes place in the first quarter of every financial year- April and May. Dates of election are yet to be announced but it is highly expected that it will clash with IPL. This will affect the venue but in no case the fun will be affected.
What will happen if the dates of election will clash with IPL T20 2014?
Though nothing is clear about the dates of Lok Sabha election but it is assumed that few earlier tournaments will held in India and rest will take place in Bangladesh or Sri Lanka. The reason behind the selection of these two places is their location. Both these places are located near India and will take less time to travel without disturbing the planned schedule of IPL. Logically it makes sense too. If you are residing in India then you may fail to physically witness the most exciting part of tournament- semi finals and finals but can still be a part of all the fun.
Security issues of IPL!
Election has put a very big question upon the security measure of IPL. A strict security will be the most important requirement then. Past experiences of IPL where central government refused to take the burden of the security in election time during 2009 via Indian Parliamentary force had forced to shift the tournament to another continent, South Africa. Last time this was unplanned but this time BCCI is moving with proper planning so that they are prepare beforehand to face any unexpected situations without hick-ups. All the players who are playing in various teams are asset for their country and their security is the biggest thing that holds much importance for BCCI and their pre planning attitude is directing reflecting the sense of responsibility in them.
Revolution in the upcoming IPL T20 2014
This time IPL will have nine teams. Pune Warriors India is no more a part of it. This is the seventh IPL tournament. Last (IPL 2013 ) tournament was won by Mumbai Indians. Chennai Super Kings was the runner up team. The biggest revolution that will be seen in IPL 7 is the currency in which the season auction will take place. The other entire six IPL auction was in US dollars but this time it has been decided that the auction will be in Indian Rupees. Venue is the other attraction as well as controversial issue due to overlapping of dates with general election. Though nothing is confirmed yet about the venue but still it is confirmed that some changes will surely occur. You will see many revolutions taking place but the only thing that will remain constant among all these revolution is the excitement, fun and the adventure. You will be saying 74 matches rather than 76. Though the number of matches has been reduced but who knows, if the fun has increased more!
This time the most unpredictable thing about IPL is the auction. You may get loads of surprises as t is highly expected that few of the best players including MS Dhoni could shift to some other team. Last year the maximum figure of auction for one player was 67 crores is expected to cross here. No one knows how many surprises are waiting for us. Few of them will be welcomed with open heart and rest may again fall trap in the hands of controversy. But the part of fun and excitement is likely to grow much more than that of this auction rates.
Who is going be the most expensive player?
The plan is to exchange all the players from their present teams. A fresh auction is expected in 2014. Dale Steven, Dhoni, Ashwin; Praveen Kumar etc all are expected to play for other teams then their respective ones. So it’s really getting tougher who will be the most expensive one. Till now only this much is known that the auction will held too soon. Whoever won the crown of earning maximum while auction but his true value will only be clear in the real field?
Oops! No cheerleaders :
For all those cheerleaders lovers (including me) are already aware of the fact that Board of Control for Cricket had announced that since 2014 there will be no cheerleaders in the match. The rumors and controversy that happened during 2013 had forced them to take this step. So this time during any four, six, half or full century or during any such exciting event stay prepare to celebrate on your own as there will be no cheerleaders to dance in behalf of your emotions.
The list of upcoming IPL T20 2014 has already been scheduled, though the venue is not yet confirmed. PEPSI is again the sponsor of IPL T20 2014. 1st IPL was won by Rajasthan Royals in the year 2008; this was the time when people were slowly trying to understand what exactly IPL was. This victory was then taken by Deccan Chargers in 2009. After two years of great struggle finally Chennai Super King were able to won the title of IPL for two consecutive years 2010-11. In the year 2012 Kolkata Knight Riders won over Chennai Super King and last year Mumbai Indian was the hero among all nine teams of IPL. Already the news that auction will held in rupees had grabbed the attention of mass. The reasons behind selection of rupees over dollars were the fluctuating value of dollars. It was too tough to understand the valuation and at the same time franchises were facing issues while fixing monthly remuneration for the players. Shifting to INR had helped franchises a lot.
Illegal act by players
Last time IPL was in headlines due to the news that many of the players were involve in the illegal act of match fixing. This year BCCI has become too strict in this regard and had decided to make the team owner accountable if any of the players are caught indulging in any illegal acts.
People have mixed view about IPL T20 2014. Some of them are viewing them as business where mass is waiting for it with their bated breath. No one knows much about the coming IPL. People are assuming and waiting for one of the best cricket tournament. So let’s see how the world will welcome these revolutions that had taken place in IPL and how much excitement it’s going to win? All finger crossed!
